Micro-CHP

Description

Distributed heat and electric power generation units (Combined Heat and Power - CHP) using fuel cells or microturbines (small scale gas turbines). The systems are fueled by natural gas. The concept of distributed electricity generation as opposed to large central power stations strives to overcome losses in the transmission and distribution stage. It is also a market disruptor in that it challenges established utility business models.
