Non-Organic Waste to Energy

Description

Operators of plants that burn household and other waste (often in the form of Refuse Derived Fuel - RDF) to generate usable heat and/or electricity. The facilities are also called waste to energy (W2E), waste incineration or energy from waste (EFW) plants. The fuel (ie waste) needs processing to minimise the pollution produced by these power plants. Additionally the exhaust gas undergoes post-incineration treatment as plastics such as PVC form a part of RDF/household waste.
