Alliance to build wind turbine plant in Nevada

US Renewable Energy Group (US REG) is joining American Nevada Company (ANC) and China’s A-Power Energy Generation Systems to build a wind turbine manufacturing plant in the US. The facility, to be located in Nevada, is slated to have an annual production capacity of 1.1GW.

Real estate firm ANC will pick potential sites for the project, with A-Power intending to finance, build and operate the plant. The manufacturing facility will supply wind energy projects in North and South America and is expected to employ 1,000 people. The firms have yet to reveal a timescale and cost estimation for the development.
