Texan engineering and construction firm Fluor is partnering with Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group (B&W PGG) to sell carbon capture and storage (CCS) systems to existing coal-fired power plants in the US and Canada. The pair will market Fluor’s Econamine FG Plus SM technology, which uses an amine-based solvent to capture the carbon dioxide from a plant’s flue gas. B&W PGG will contribute its experience in retrofitting air quality control systems, and both companies will work together to provide engineering, procurement and construction services to integrate the technology.
