CNOOC and Isofoton investing USD300m in Asian solar projects

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and Spanish firm Isofoton are setting up a joint venture to develop solar farms in Asia. The venture, called Isofoton Lishen New Energy, aims to develop 150MW of photovoltaic (PV) projects, with CNOOC expected to contribute USD300m in investment. CNOOC, through subsidiary Tianjin Lishen Battery Company, will hold a 51% stake in the venture. Isofoton will own the remaining 49% and will be responsible for supplying solar panels to the projects.
