US Army investing USD60m in renewable energy and energy efficiency

The US Army is awarding USD60m worth of contracts to Johnson Controls (JCI) and Siemens to boost renewable energy capacity and improve energy efficiency. The contracts will add 8.2MW of renewable energy capacity to army bases, which will cut energy usage by around 267bn BTUs per year.
