Jordan dismisses talks of joint USD100MW solar farm with Israel

The Jordanian government has dismissed reports it is working with Israel to develop a solar thermal power plant on the border of the two countries. According to Israeli newspaper Maariv, the project was to have a capacity of up to 100MW with an expected to cost of between USD300m and USD600m. Talking to The Jordan Times, a spokesman for the ministry of environment says it has not received any contact from Israel regarding the project, and that any potential development would have to undergo a thorough environmental feasibility study.
