Israel plans to add a further 27MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) power capacity to its national grid after green-lighting a further 19 licenses for projects. The country’s energy and water ministry has already set aside ILS10m (USD2.7m) in funding to support the development of projects which will cover up 2,000 hectares of land. The new licenses bring the total amount of solar power approved to be integrated into Israel’s national electricity grid to around 515MW.
