Cambrios Technologies has raised USD5m in a Series D funding round from the venture arm of Samsung. The investment coincides with the appointment of John LeMoncheck, who is replacing Dr Michael Knapp as president and CEO. Founded in 2001, the Californian firm is developing a nanotechnology-based conductive coating material which has applications in thin-film photovoltaics (PV), OLED lighting, transparent electrodes for touch screens and LCD displays. Cambrios claims its ClearOhm material has significantly higher optical and electrical performance when compared to materials such as indium tin oxide.
