eMeter acquisition cost Siemens up to USD220m

The price for Siemens’ recent acquisition of Californian smart grid firm eMeter is rumoured to be between USD180m and USD220m, according to sources cited by GreentechMedia. The firm develops meter data management (MDM) software which enables utilities to monitor and analyse data from customers’ smart meters. eMeter also provides utilities with a portal to enable customers to monitor their energy usage and alter their behaviour to save money and reduce peak load.
