ZeaChem has secured a USD232.5m loan from the US Department of Agriculture to support the development of cellulosic ethanol biorefinery in Oregon. The Boardman project will have the capacity to produce 25m gallons per year of cellulosic ethanol and is expected to cost a total of around USD390.5m. The facility, which is to be built beside an existing demonstration-scale plant, is slated to begin operating by late 2014.
