Californian solar firm MiaSole is reportedly cutting 30% of its 350-strong workforce. According to Greentech Media, the majority of the cuts will take place in the engineering and equipment design areas. MiaSole produces CIGS (copper indium gallium diselenide) thin-film solar panels that have a conversion efficiency of around 13%. In November, former First Solar marketing and sales EVP, John Carrington took charge of the firm and said he would be seeking a strategic investor to support expansion.
