GCL-Poly Energy, China Technology Development Group (CTDG) and China Merchant’s Group (CMG) are teaming up to develop solar power projects, both domestically and in the US. CMG claims to have the largest existing, under construction and proposed warehouse rooftop space available in China, with around 3m square metres. Under the deal, polysilicon producer GCL will invest around USD7.5m in a subsidiary of CMG, and will work with the partners to develop up to 500MW of solar generating capacity in the country over the next five years.
