OriginOil is teaming up with the US Department of Energy’s Idaho National Laboratory (INL) to develop an integrated system for directly converting raw algae into renewable crude oil. The Californian firm will combine its quantum extraction technology for algae harvesting with INL’s biomass processing technology to convert raw algae into barrels of renewable crude oil that can be used in existing petroleum refineries.
