Malaby gets USD1.2m loan for UK biogas plant

Malaby Biogas has secured a GBP800,000 (USD1.2m) fromthe UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) to support the development of an anaerobic digestion plant in South West England. The Bore Hill Farm project, located in Wilshire, is costing GBP5m (USD7.6m) and has already received equity funding from Clydesdale Bank. Malaby is currently construction the facility which will process 20,000 tonnes per year of food waste and generate around 500kW of electricity. The project is expected to begin operating in March and will feed electricity into the national grid.
