RWE Innogy, the renewable energy arm of German utility RWE, plans to spend around EUR5bn (USD6.4bn) on projects over the next four years. The firm aims to increase its installed renewable energy capacity from 2.5GW at present to 4.5GW over the period. Projects will include a EUR1bn (USD1.3bn) offshore wind development in the North Sea, biomass and wind power facilities in the UK and Poland, where it plans to increase its installed capacity to 300MW by 2015.
