SuVolta has raised USD17.6m in an equity funding round from Bright Capital and existing investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, August Capital, NEA, Northgate Capital and DAG Ventures. The Californian firm is developing a transistor which it claims cuts power consumption in chips by 50% to 90%. SuVolta says the technology can be implemented in existing chip designs and manufacturing facilities.
