Mon Dec 12 2011, 09:29 AM

Mainstream Renewable Power is buying wind turbines from Chinese manufacturer Goldwind with the aid of financing from China Development Bank (CDB). The 23 turbines will be used in a 34.5MW wind farm being built by the Irish firm in Chile. The project will be owned by Mainstream, which claims it will be one of the first Western wind developers to benefit from non-recourse financing from the CDB. The Negrete Cuel project is located in the central Chile, and will be the country’s sixth utility-scale wind farm.
