The Ethiopian government is planning to launch a geothermal power plant and six new wind energy facilities as part of a drive to boost the country's renewable energy sources. The new sites are expected to have a combined generating capacity of 1,015MW once they are finished, according to blog The Africa Report. Slated for completion by the end of the current fiscal year, the government will reportedly plough more than USD300m into the projects.
