KLD lands USD10m for electric motors

KLD Energy has raised USD10m in debt financing from undisclosed sources. The Texan firm is developing an electric drive system for two- and three-wheeled vehicles. The system comprises a transmission-less motor, battery and battery management system, and KLD claims it offers a higher regenerative braking efficiency than any other electric drive system on the market. Since beign founded in 2008, the firm has raised around USD26m in funding, including USD2.2m earlier this year.
