Early-stage thermoelectric startup Silicium Energy has landed USD1.65m seed investment from investor Vinod Khosla, according to a new SEC filing. The Michigan-based firm is reportedly developing thermoelectric materials using silicon-based nanowires. Other VC-backed firms developing the technology, which converts waste heat into electricity, include Phononic Devices, O-Flexx Technologies and Alphabet Energy, which raised USD12m in September.
