EBRD launching USD272m clean energy fund

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is investing EUR40m (USD54.5m) to set up a new fund that will support the development of clean energy projects in Turkey, the Western Balkans and the Caucasus. The Clean Energy Transition Fund (CETF) has a target size of EUR200m (USD272.7m) and will provide equity capital for projects in the region. The fund will focus on wind, geothermal, biomass, solar and hydroelectric power, and also provide financing for energy efficiency equipment and service suppliers.
