Alphabet Energy lands USD12m for thermoelectric materials

Alphabet Energy has raised USD12m in a Series A funding round led by TPG Biotech. Existing investors Claremont Creek Ventures and the CAlCEF Clean Energy Angel Fund also participated in the round. The Californian firm is developing waste heat recovery technology and says its thermoelectric materials can be used to turn heat directly into electricity.
