LanzaTech and Harsco to produce fuels from waste gases

LanzaTech has signed a deal to offer its technology to steel mill customers of Pennsylvania-based industrial services firm Harsco Corporation. The New Zealand firm has developed gas fermentation technology for producing ethanol, hydrocarbon fuels or 2,3-butanediol from industrial waste gases, and will use the deal to help accelerate the adoption of its technology from steelmaking firms in the Americas, Europe and selected emerging markets. LanzaTech and Harsco will also explore potential partnerships for building and operating commercial facilities.
