Hydropower firm SN Power is paying USD440m to acquire a 40.65% stake in Brazilian renewable energy developer Desenvix. The firm, a subsidiary of engineering firm ENGEVIX has an installed capacity of 162MW, with a further 176MW still under construction. The assets are mainly hydroelectric power projects, but include two wind farms and a biomass power plant that is still being developed. The acquisition also includes Desenvix’s 50% stake in Enex, a provider of operations and maintenance services for small and medium-scale hydropower plants.
