General Electric’s (GE) energy unit plans to invest up to USD40m in Californian solar thermal firm eSolar. GE Energy signed a licensing deal with the firm in June, which will enable it to deploy integrated solar thermal and natural gas power plants in all countries except China and India. As part of the deal, Paul Browning, CEO of thermal products for GE will join eSolar’s board of directors.
