ITT buys water monitoring firm YSI

ITT Corporation, a provider of water distribution equipment, is paying an undisclosed sum to acquire YSI. The Ohio-based firm develops and produces sensors, instruments, software and data collection platforms for environmental water monitoring. In 2010, YSI had global revenues of USD101m. The acquisition, which will result in the merger of the two companies, is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in Q3 of this year.
