General Electric (GE) plans to build a manufacturing plant for thin-film solar panels in the US. The firm has yet to finalise a location for the plant, which will have the capacity to produce 400MW per year of panels. GE has not disclosed the estimated cost of the facility, but says when complete it will bring its total investment in solar technology and commercialisation to USD600m.
