Texan construction firm Fluor is building a solar manufacturing complex in Singapore after signing a USD420m contract with Norwegian solar firm Renewable Energy Corp (REC). The integrated facility will produce 740MW of silicon wafers, 550MW of cells and 590MW of modules per year by 2012. Fluor will partner with project manager Bovis Lend Lease on the project, which involves constructing roadways and supporting infrastructure. REC hopes to begin production at the complex in 2010.
