East Coast Ethanol (ECE) is investing USD871m in four plants in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida to produce a total of 440m gallons per year of corn ethanol. The firm claims the plants will make it the sixth largest ethanol producer in the US. Developer Fagen will design and build the plants. ECE expects construction to begin next year, with the plants scheduled for completion by 2011.
